What is the Coinrule MCP?
The Coinrule MCP lets AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, and Grok trade, read balances, and build strategies on your Coinrule account. Here is what it does and how to start.
The Coinrule MCP is an official Model Context Protocol server that connects AI assistants — Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, and any other MCP-compatible client — directly to your Coinrule Cloud account. Once connected, you can trade, read your balances, launch strategies, run backtests, and manage baskets just by chatting with your AI assistant, without leaving the chat window.
What you can do through the MCP
With the Coinrule MCP connected, your AI assistant can:
- Trade across venues. Launch live or paper strategies on any connected exchange or broker — Binance, Coinbase, Kraken (spot and perps), Hyperliquid, KuCoin, and Trading 212 — across crypto spot, perpetuals, and stocks.
- Read balances and holdings. Ask for your cash balances, asset holdings, and portfolio allocation across every connected account.
- Create trading strategies. Describe a strategy in plain English and have it validated, tested, and launched — or start from the Script Library.
- Use templates and baskets. Browse the Script Library templates and the basket marketplace, then launch a curated or custom multi-asset basket.
- Monitor performance. Inspect a strategy's live status, positions, PnL, trade history, and recent signals.
- Backtest. Run historical simulations and compare scenarios before going live.

You will sign in with your Coinrule account and choose Read only or Read + Write access. See connecting your AI assistant for the full flow, and the per-client guides for Claude, ChatGPT, and Grok.
Is it secure?
Yes. The MCP connects over OAuth 2.1 — your AI assistant never sees your password or exchange API keys. You explicitly grant read-only or read-and-write access at connect time, and you can revoke any connection at any moment from Settings → Integrations. The MCP server only talks to the Coinrule API on your behalf; it has no direct database or exchange-key access.
MCP vs the web app
Everything you can do through the MCP, you can also do in the Coinrule web app — the MCP is an additional way to reach the same account, not a separate product. Strategies you launch by chat appear in your normal Agents dashboard.
