Connecting your first exchange

How to connect your first exchange account to Coinrule.

Live trading requires connecting at least one exchange account (Starter plan or above).

Quick start

  1. Go to Connect (avatar menu → Connect, or /connect).
  2. Choose your exchange.
  3. Follow the exchange-specific guide — each shows the exact API key permissions needed.
  4. Paste your API key and secret (or use OAuth if available).
  5. Coinrule tests the connection and shows your balance.

Which exchange to start with?

  • Binance — widest coin selection, best liquidity. Use Binance Link (OAuth) for the fastest setup.
  • Coinbase — good for US users. OAuth available.
  • Hyperliquid — DEX perpetuals, wallet-based auth.

Exchange guides

Paper trading without an exchange

You can launch paper strategies without connecting a real exchange. Paper strategies run on paper_binance or paper_hyperliquid virtual accounts. No exchange connection is needed.
