MCP troubleshooting

Most MCP connection problems come down to a stale connector or the wrong access level. Work through the fixes below; if you are still stuck, contact support.

ChatGPT shows "invalid_client"

ChatGPT sometimes caches a stale client registration. Remove the Coinrule connector and add it again from scratch — this forces a fresh OAuth registration and clears the error. See Connect ChatGPT.

The connection URL is rejected

Confirm the server URL is exactly:

https://cloud.coinrule.com/mcp

with no trailing path or query string. A URL with extra path segments will not resolve.

Sign-in loops or never completes

• Make sure you are signing into the correct Coinrule account.
• Allow pop-ups / redirects for your AI client so the OAuth window can open and return.
• If your client cached a half-finished attempt, remove the connector and add it again.

The assistant can read but not trade

A read-only connection intentionally hides all write tools, so the assistant cannot create, launch, or stop strategies. Reconnect and choose Read + Write. See scopes and permissions.

Access stopped working

• You revoked it. Check Settings → Integrations; if the connection is gone, reconnect.
• Token expired. Access tokens are short-lived and normally refresh automatically. If your client failed to refresh, remove and re-add the connector.

"Missing account" when launching a multi-venue basket

A basket whose legs span several exchanges needs a connected account on each one. Connect the missing exchange (see connecting an exchange), then ask the assistant to launch again.

The assistant picks the wrong action

Be explicit: name the venue, the capital amount, and whether you want paper or live. See example prompts for phrasing that maps cleanly to the right tool.

Revoke the connection in Settings → Integrations, reconnect from scratch, and if the problem persists, reach out via support.
